Bunney's Teddy Bear Friends 1 Tutorial This tutorial was created using PSP 7. The inspiration for these little guys came from some material I had purchased some time ago. I thought they where cute so I tried recreating them in PSP. The pink teddy bear is the one we will be creating. If you would like to create the other bears shown above, you will find the links at the bottom of this tutorial. I hope you enjoy making these little guys as much as I have creating them for you! Have fun creating your own images! This is the bear we will be creating today! Supplies needed to complete this tutorial. 1. My teddy bear selection files. Download HERE. (Unzip these into your psp selections folder. If you do not have one create one now). 2. My pattern fills. Download HERE. (Unzip these into your psp pattern folder). Lets Get Started 1. Open a new 412 by 476 (16. 7 Million color) transparent image. 2. Foreground (styles) color #312A22. Background needs to be a pattern of fill that you want to use for your teddy bear. I am using pink_plaid. 3. Layers, new raster layer. Name this layer body. 4. Selections, load from disk. Choose body.sel 5. Flood fill with #312A22. Selections, modify contract by 2 (two). Flood fill with pink_plaid. Selections, float. 6. Effects, 3D effects, cut out. Use these settings. Color is #E070A7. (Note: If you used a different pattern fill for your teddy bear, you may need to adjust the color of the cut out).
7. Layers, new raster layer. Name this layer left arm. 8. Selections, load from disk. Choose leftarm.sel. Click ok. 9. Repeat steps 5 and 6. (You will need to change the blur to 15 on the cut out effect). 10. Layers, arrange send to bottom. 11. Highlight body layer and add a new raster layer. Name this layer right arm. 12. Selections, load from disk choose rightarm.sel. Click ok. 13. Flood fill with #312A22. Selections, modify, contract by 2. Flood fill with pink_plaid. Selections, float. 14. Effects, 3D effects, cut out. Use these settings. 15. Selections, select none. 16. Change background pattern fill to purple_star, or a pattern of your choice. 17. Layers, new raster layer. Name this layer bow1. 18. Selections, load from disk. Choose bow1.sel. Click ok. 19. Flood fill with #312A22. Selections, modify contract by 1 (one). Flood fill with purple_star pattern, or pattern of your choice. Selections, float. 20. Effects, 3D effects, cut out. Use settings below. Color is #7A5DD7. (Note: again you may need to change color of cut out according to the pattern fill you have used). 21. Selections, select none. 22. You will need to follow the same directions for selection files bow2-7 going in order from 2 thru 7. Your image will look similar to this. 23. Change your background fill back to pink_plaid. Foreground color stays the same. 24. Layers, new raster layer. Name this layer head. 25. Selections, load from disk. Choose head.sel. Click ok. 26. Flood fill with #312A22. Selections, modify, contract by 2 (two). Flood fill with pink_plaid. Selections, float. 27. Effects, 3D effects, cut out. Use these settings. Color is #E070A7. 28. Selections, select none. 29. Layers, new raster layer. Name this layer right leg. 30. Selections, load from disk. Choose rightleg.sel. Click ok. 31. Flood fill with #312A22. Selections, modify contract by 2. Flood fill with pink_plaid. Selections, float. 32. Effects, 3D effects, cut out. Same settings as before only change blur to 15. Selections, select none. 33. Layers, new raster layer. Name this layer left leg. 34. Selections, load from disk. Choose leftleg.sel. Click ok. 35. Repeat steps 31 and 32. 36. Change background color to #FDC1DD. Foreground color stays the same. 37. Selections, load from disk. Choose righpaw.sel. Click ok 38. Flood fill with #312A22. Selections, modify contract by 2 (two) flood fill with #FDC1DD. 39. Effects 3D effects, cut out. Use same settings. Do NOT deselect. Add a new raster layer. No need to name this layer. 40. Change foreground (styles) color to white. Using airbrush tool with these settings. Spray some white around the outer area of the paw.
41. Effects, blur, gaussian blur. Use radius of 2.98. Selections, select none. 42. Layers, new raster layer. Name this layer left paw. 43. Follow same steps above for the left paw as you did for the right paw. Your image should look similar to this. 44. Layers, new raster layer. Name this layer muzzle. 45. Selections, load from disk. Choose muzzle.sel. Click ok. 46. Repeat same steps for muzzle as you did for the left and right paw. Don't forget to add the new layer and use your white airbrush and gaussian blur. 47. Layers, new raster layer. Name this layer head lines. 48. Selections, load from disk. Choose headlines.sel. Click ok. 49. Selections, modify, feater by 2 pixels. 50. Flood fill twice with #312A22. Selections, select none. 51. Layers, new raster layer. Name this layer lines. 52. Selections, load from disk. Choose lines.sel. Click ok. 53. Repeat steps 49 and 50. 54. Open your layer palette and drag this layer down below your right arm layer. 55. Highlight head layer and add a new raster layer. Name this layer eye. 56. Flood fill with black. You can add an inner bevel to the eye or use eyecandy glass like I have on this tutorial. I used eyecandy 4000. 57. Selections, select none. Layers duplicate. Image mirror. Place on the left side of the bear. Your image should look similar to this. 58. Layers, new raster layer. Name this layer nose. Layers, arrange bring to top. 59. Selections, load from disk. Choose nose.sel. Click ok. 60. Flood fill with black. You may also add a inner bevel effect to the nose or eyecandy glass effect as I have done. 61. Layers, new raster layer. Name this layer mouth. (Almost finished). 62. Change background color to null. Foreground (styles) color should be black. 63. Using draw tool with these settings. Draw a line going down from the bears nose and then two curved lines for his mouth. Layers arrange move down. This layer should be under the nose layer. 64. You can now add a new raster layer and add some small dots beside his nose and mouth similar to this. Using the draw tool. You can now merge visible all layers and rename teddy bear. You are now finished. Your image is ready to tube. My final image looks like this. Your image, or course, will be larger and show more detail.
