It also works a little with preset shapes.

Lets Get Started!

Supplies needed to complete this tutorial.

1. Preset shapes. Download those HERE. Unzip into your preset shapes folder in PSP.

2. My selection files. Download those HERE. Unzip these into your selections folder in PSP. If you do not have a selection folder create one now.

1. Open a new 450 by 500 (16.7 Million colors) transparent image.

2. Layers, new raster layer. Name this layer body.

3. Foreground (styles) color Black. Background color #800000.

4. Selections, load from disk, choose body.sel. Click ok.

5. Flood fill with black. Selections, modify contract by 3. Flood fill with #800000.

6. Selections, select none. Selections, select all. Selections float. Selections invert.

7. Effects, 3D effects, drop shadow. Use these settings. Color is black.

8. Selections, select none.

9. Layers, new raster layer. Name this layer right arm.

10. Selections, load from disk choose rightarm.sel. Click ok.

11. Repeat steps 5 thru 8.

12. Layers, new raster layer. Name this layer left arm.

13. Selections, load from disk. Choose leftarm.sel. Click ok.

14. Repeat steps 5 thru 8.

15. Layers, new raster layer. Name this layer right hand.

16. Foreground color should be white.

17. Selections, load from disk. Choose righthand.sel. Click ok.

18. Flood fill with white.

19. Selections, select none. Selections, select all. Selections, float. Selections invert.

20. Effects, 3D effects, drop shadow. Use these settings.

21. Selections, invert. Selections, modify contract by 2. Selections invert. Hit delete on your keyboard. What you are doing here is getting rid of the little jagged edges left behind. Selections, select none.

22. Open your layer palette and drag your right hand layer below your right arm layer.

23. Layers, duplicate. Image mirror. This will place your left hand where is should be.

24. Layers, new raster layer. Name this layer head. Layers, arrange bring to top.

25. Selections, load from disk. Choose head.sel. Click ok.

26. Foreground (styles) color black. Background color white.

27. Flood fill with black.

28. Selections, modify contract by 3. Flood fill with white.

29. Selections, select none. Selections, select all. Selections float. Selections invert.

30. Effects 3D effects, drop shadow, use these settings. Color is black.

31. Selections, select none.

32. Layers, new raster layer. Name this layer hat top.

33. Foreground (styles) color black. Background color #008000.

34. Selections, load from disk. Choose hattop.sel. Click ok.

35. Flood fill with black. Selections, modify contract by 3. Flood fill with #008000.

36. Selections, select none. Selections, select all. Selections float. Selections invert.

37. Effects 3D effects, drop shadow. Use same settings as before.

38. Selections, select none.

39. Layers, new raster layer. Name this layer hat front.

40. Selections, load from disk choose hatfront.sel. Click ok.

41. Repeat steps 35 thru 38.

42. Layers, new raster layer. Name this layer smile.

43. Foreground (styles) color black. Background color #800000.

44. Selections, load from disk. Choose smile.sel. Click ok.

45. Flood fill with black. Selections modify contract by 3. Flood fill with #800000.

46. Selections, select none. Selections, select all. Selections float. Selections invert.

47. Effects 3D effects, drop shadow. Use same settings as before.

48. Selections, select none.

49. Layers, new raster layer. Name this layer mouth line.

50. Selections, load from disk. Choose mouthline.sel. Click ok.

51. Flood fill with black.

52. Selections, select none.

53. Layers, new raster layer. Name this layer foot.

54. Selections, load from disk. Choose foot.sel. Click ok.

55. Foreground (styles) color black. Background color #FFFF40.

56. Flood fill with black. Selections modify contract by 3. Flood fill with #FFFF40.

57. Selections, select none. Selections, select all. Selections float. Selections invert.

58. Effects 3D effects, drop shadow. Use same settings as you used earlier.

59. Selections, select none.

60. Layers, duplicate. Image mirror. Move the right shoe over to the right just a little so that your shoes are not overlapping. Your image should look similar to this.
