"Rusti" Reindeer Tutorial This tutorial was created using
PSP 7, but can be revised using other versions of PSP. I hope you enjoy this
tutorial as much as I have creating it. 1. Eye candy 4000 (optional). Used only for the glass look on the reindeer's eye. Download trial HERE. (Note: Not all filters work in the trial version). Lets get started! 1. Open a new 600 by 600 (16.7 million colors) transparent image. 2. Foreground (styles) color black. Background color #946952. 3. Preset shapes tool 4. Object selector tool 5. On the top node, right click, node type. Choose symmetric. 6. Drag arrow in to the middle. Right click, quit node editing. 7. Layers convert to raster. Rename this layer face. Your image should look similar to this. 8. Selections, select all. Selections float. 9. Effects, 3D effects, cut out. Use these settings. 10. Leave marching ants around face. Add a new raster layer. Name this layer cheeks. 11. Foreground (styles) color #800000. 12. Airbrush tool 13. Effects, blur, gaussian blur. Use these settings. 14. Selections, select none. 15. Foreground (styles) color black. Background color black. 16. Layers, new raster layer. Name this layer nose. 17. Preset shapes tool with these settings. Draw a oval shape for your reindeer's nose. 18. Selections, select all. Selections float. 19. Layers, new raster layer. Name this layer shiny. 20. Foreground (styles) white. 21. Paintbrush tool 22. Effects, blur, gaussian blur. Use these settings. 23. Selections, select none. Your image should look similar to this. 24. Layers, new raster layer. Name this layer eyes. 25. Preset shapes tool, same settings you used on the nose. Draw a oval shape for his eye. 26. Effects, plug-in filters, eye candy 4000, glass. (Optional) Use these settings. 27. Deformation tool 28. Open layer palette. Duplicate layer. Image mirror. Place on the opposite side. Your image should look similar to this. |
