Bunney's Snowglobe Tutorial Page 3 Going back to your preset shapes tool Your foreground (styles) color should still be black, background color should still be set on white. Use your ellipse shape same settings as you used on your arms. Create as vector is checked. Draw a oblong shape at the bottom of the snowman's body like this Use your object selector tool and right click on the inside of the leg and go to node edit. We just want to bring the bottom node up to form almost a straight line bring the two (2) side nodes in just a little . Top node doesn't really matter at this point because it will be hid behind the body. Once you are happy with the leg, right click and go to quit node editing. Then layers convert to raster and name this layer leg. On your layer palette drag this layer all the way to the bottom. Now go to selections, select all then effects 3D effects, cut out and use these settings Then go to edit copy edit paste as a new selection then image mirror and place on the opposite side. This is what you should have You can now add his boots using the tubes I zipped up for you in the beginning of the tutorial. For this tutorial I used my tubes scale at 100. Depending upon the size of your snowman's leg you may have to make that scale larger or smaller. If you do just make sure you sharpen it just a little to make it clearer. Add boot 1 to the left side of your snowman's leg. Once you get it set where you want it go to edit copy, then edit paste as a new selection then image mirror and place on the other leg. This is what you should have Please keep in mind you do not have to use these boots you may create your own or you can colorize them if you wish. These are just used as a guideline for this tutorial. Use your imagination;)) Take your draw tool your settings should still be set change your background color to null like we did earlier, Your foreground (styles) color is still set to black. Now at the bottom of each boot draw a line from the point of the toe to the hill to give it some depth. You may want to zoom in a little to see better what you are doing *S*. Do this to both boots and then add a hill similar to this Not much left;))) Now we want to add the hat. On your layer palette we need to highlight your face layer. Add a new raster layer and name this layer hat. Using your preset shapes tool locate the hat preset shape you downloaded at the beginning of this tutorial top hat. You may use what ever colors you wish but I set my background color to the snowman gold we used earlier. Make sure create as vector IS NOT checked. Now just draw a top hat on your snowman. I used my deformation tool and held down my shift key on the keyboard and brought the right hand node down a little to give it some depth like this Then go to effects sharpen, sharpen. Now go to effects 3D effects, cut out and use these settings Then apply another cut out effect only change the vertical and horizontal to -2 (minus two). Now you can add the holly tubes I have provided for you or add your own touch. Make sure you add these on a different layer. If you use the tubes provided you will need to scale them smaller:)) That's all that's left besides animating him. We will do that on the next page. I also went one step further and added a bow tie. This is included in the preset shapes I zipped up for you at the beginning of the tutorial. If you want yours gold like mine change your background color to the snowman gold image. Use your preset shapes tool and browse to find your bowtie preset shape Add a new raster layer and name this layer bowtie and then draw a bowtie for your snowman. I added a cut out effect by going to effects 3D effects, cut out and used these settings You snowman should look similar to this. Next we want to animate the snow So go to page 4 for that.
