Frosted Ornament Tutorial I hope you enjoy this tutorial
as much as I have creating it;0) 1. Black and white Christmas image. You can download some HERE. (NOTE: You will need to go HERE to prepare your black and white image for use with this tutorial first before beginning this tutorial). 2. Eye Candy 4000. (Some filters will not work in the trial version). Download trial version HERE. 3. My Glass globe. Download HERE. 4. FM Tile Tools Filter. Download HERE. 5. Unplugged effects filter. (Optional) Download HERE. Unzip into your psp plug-in folder. 6. Blade Pro. Download Demo version HERE. 7. Dee's blade pro preset silver shimmer. Download HERE. Lets get started! 1. Open a new 400 by 400 (16.7 million colors) transparent image. 2. Foreground (styles) and background color white. 3. Preset shapes tool (ellipse) with these settings. Draw a circle shape for your ornament. 4. Selection tool with these settings. 5. Draw a rectangle around your entire ornament. Click anywhere on the ornament and your marching ants will be around the ornament. 6. Foreground (styles) #E7A3AD. (Or any color you want your ornament to be). (NOTE: Pastel colors work best for this tutorial). 7. Flood fill tool fill your image with the color you have chosen. 8. Layers, new raster layer. Name this layer image. (NOTE: Keep marching ants around your ornament). 9. Highlight your snowman image. Edit copy. 10. Highlight your ornament. Edit paste into selection. This is what you should have. 11. Layer palette. Right click on image layer. Go to properties. Click on blend mode. Choose lighten. Your image should now look like this. 12. Effects, noise, edge preserving smooth. Use 7 (Seven) for your amount of shading. 13. Apply a second edge preserving smooth, using same settings. 14. Effects, plug-in filters, eye candy 4000, glass. Use these settings. (NOTE: Glass color should be same color as your ornament color). 15. Effects, plug-in filters, fm tile tool, blend emboss. Use these settings. (NOTE: Your image will look as if you just have the marching ants. Don't worry that's what you want). 16. Colors, adjust, Highlight/Midtone/Shadow. Use these settings. 17. Colors, colorize. Use these settings. Your image should look similar to this. 18. Effects, plug-in filters, fm tile tools, blend emboss. Use same settings. 19. Selections, select none. 20. Open layer palette, click on layer 1 (your actual ornament with the color). 21. Effects, plug-in filters, unplugged effects, snow. (Optional) Use these settings. 22. Selection tool. Same settings. Draw a rectangle around your ornament. Click once to get marching ants around the ornament. 23. Layers, new raster layer. Name this layer globe. 24. Open globe in psp. Edit copy. 25. Highlight ornament. Edit paste into selection. 26. Layers, arrange, bring to top. 27. Selections, select none. 28. Layers palette. Lower opacity to 80 on globe layer. Your image should look like this. 29. Layers, merge visible. Rename layer ornament. 30. Layers, new raster layer. Name this layer ornament top. 31. Foreground (styles) color white. Background color white. 32. Preset shapes tool (rounded rectangle) with these settings. 33. Draw a rounded rectangle for the top of your ornament. Your image should look like this. (NOTE: For demonstration purposes, I have made this ornament top red for better visuals).
34. Selections tool. Same settings. Draw a rectangle around the top ornament and click one to select it. 35. Effects, plug-in filters, flaming pear, blade pro. Choose D_silver shimmer. Click ok. 36. Colors, adjust, Hightlight/Midtone/Shadow. Use same settings as 16. 37. Selections, select none. 38. Layer, new raster layer. Name this layer hanger. 39. Layers, arrange send to bottom. 40. Foreground (styles) color white. Background color null. 41. Preset shapes tool. (Ellipse) Use these settings. 42. Draw circle for the hanger. Your image should look like this. (NOTE: For demonstration purposes I have used red for the hanger for better viewing). 43. Effects, plug-in filters, flaming pear, chose D_silver shimmer. Click ok. 44. Colors, adjust, Highlight/Midtone/Shadow. Use same settings as on 16. Your image should look like this. 44. Layers, merge visible. Rename ornament. You are now finished. You can tube your ornament or save as psp for later use. I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial as much as I have creating it.
