Bunney's Window Frame Tutorial
I created this tutorial using PSP 7, I also used Blade Pro which can be downloaded here. The preset I used can be found here. You will need to unzip this file to your PSP plug ins, Blade pro, enviroment/textures folder. I will also be using some preset shapes I created using fonts they can be downloaded here, just unzip them into your psp 7 preset shapes folder. Eye-candy 4000 was used in this tutorial as well however, it is optional. It gives the horses a glow look to them:0) You can find a trial version of Eye-candy here. We are ready to begin now. *S*
Open up the image you wish to use for this
tutorial, I am using this one, I received this image from somewhere and
not sure where I got it, if it belongs to you and you wish to have me remove
it or want proper credit for it please email me and I will see that its taken
care of;0) Just right click and click save as to your hard-drive if you wish
to use this one.
Always create a duplicate of your original by hitting CTRL and D on
your keyboard that way you still have the original image if you wish to use
it for another tutorial:))
After you have made a duplicate of your original you can now close the original image, we will be using the duplicate from here on out. Open your layer palette . We need to promote this background to a layer like this
Rename this layer horse. Now we need to add a new raster layer. Go to
layers, new raster layer and name this layer Preset shape. Now go to your
preset shapes tool
Make sure you have the same settings as I have used above, On your color palette make sure you have white as your foreground (styles) color and your background color will be null.
Now we are going to draw our preset shape onto your horse image, so make sure you are still on your preset shapes tool and start at the top left hand corner of your image at 0,0 and draw your preset shape onto your horse image like this. Your image is going to be larger and more detail as I have resized this one for download time:0)
Now while we are still on your preset shape layer, using your magic wand
Click on all four (4) corners of your image like this. I hope you can see
the marching ants around the corners as shown below. If you will hold the
shift key on your keyboard while selecting each individual corner you can
select them all at one time:0)
Now while the marching ants are still around your four corners highlight your background ( horse) layer.
Now go to Effects, texture effects, fine leather and use these
settings
I didn't want the darker outside areas as dark as they are shown so what I
did was go to colors, adjust brightness/contrast and used these settings
This is what you should have now. Remember your image will be larger and
more detail:)
Now while still on your horse layer and your marching ants are still around the four corners we are going to use eye-candy 4000 now. This just gives the horse a glow look this step is optional. Go to effects, plug ins, Eye-candy 4000, and use corona with these settings
Now go back to your preset shapes layer, click on the white
area using your magic wand like this
Now you can either change the color before adding your blade pro present or
use this color I am using my flood fill tool
Now go to layers, merge all flatten. Still looks a little plain so we need
to add another frame to this one. We need to make sure our background is now
set on white or a color you wish to use for your frame, I am choosing the
same color as I used for the inside frame so make sure your background color
is that color. Foreground (Styles) color does not matter at this point.
Go to image add borders and use these settings
Now just apply the same blade pro settings as we used earlier. Click ok and you now have a window frame:))
I hope you have enjoyed this Window frame tutorial as much as I have creating it! If you have any problems or questions please feel free to email me at kitchel@webworkz.com and I promise I will answer any email as soon as possible. Bunney's Burrow
